Hopefully some parts from the 66 weren't just scrapped. Be a shame, I'm sure someone could use something.
kempez - MĂ„ned siden
I think this is looking great. You've essentially started a new card build there. I really hope you paint those bars, they'd make the engine bay look fantastic in a metallic red or something. I really value the hard work and effort you put into your builds man. Big respect, from the UK 🇬🇧

Should have just gotten 65 body by Dynacorn that was already put together and made the necessary modification to drop in a coyote engine. It would have saved on weight. I hope he tell us how much this car weighs when he is done with the build.

So you wasted months of build time and just bought a body, I was interested from the start on how you would stitch the original body back together..... Pretty clear now you just have way too much money and time yet still take the easy road out! LOL So after all this, you have achieved welding up a box chassis.....

Plus completely cut up a pretty solid old 66. His build tho.

I think he realized splitting a car down the middle is a lot more work than anticipated. What do ya do for windows ? Plexiglas? Junk. Lexan ,maybe. Custom made glass, very expensive. Think of the labor alone involved in widening everything else. Trunk lid, hood, grill, bumpers, etc. Its a hell of a lot of work. And at the end of the day it would look horrible because the proportions aren't right.

You can't just weld a plate tower in... you need all measurements from height above axle, forward or rear of axle, the compound angles of tower plate lean, side to side of center,... list is long. Looks like you're a few zip codes from ever being close.

LifeLongStrong - 2 mĂ„neder siden
It's the welds??? Couldn't be the chopping it in half, with no real plan how to do that, let alone get it back together. I like the idea and enthusiasm, but knew it was going to end this way. For something this drastic you have to plan, plan, plan, or waste lots of time and money learning from your mistakes.

When Vtuned cut the car in half I knew he would end up scrapping it. I am glad he is going this route. This will not be easy! He will need to really think before he welds. Really needs to make up some leveling pinch jacks like he uses on the frame machine. Best way to handle the body would be with them to keep it dead straight or it will all come back to bite him again.

B is for Build also tried building one but the build had to stop as threes an apparent copyright of the Eleanor build. They literally threatened to sue him and he had to stop the build immediately, please like this comment guys so vtuned can see this

This car is built like a dump truck, every thing that you have fabbed is 5-10 thicker or stronger than was necessary and ultimately only adds more weight. There is ABSOLUTELY no reason you couldn't use the shock tower, we do it ALL the time in drag racing, and you can still use CC plates with the factory shock tower.

The front strut tube work is coming along nicely. I’m guessing you’ll pull something slick off with the strut tower tops. Leaving them flat isn’t gonna work. It’ll be tricky, they’re angled in 2 axis. I built something similar and used a bubble type Caster/Camber gauge to double check suspension geometry along the build

I think its great your learning as you go and showing/fixing your mistakes. I'm not sure where you live, but have you checked out guidelines for registering a kit/project car with no VIN since you ditched the original vehicle? Check with your DMV before you go much farther.
