Dissimilar metals that come in contact with each other tend to corrode once electrically charged an d grounded. The aluminum at the contact points will a totally dissolve and is almost undetectable. unless there is some sort of barrier in place rubber seal etc...Be careful

you spend so much time cutting out that piece when you could have just got a square cardboard piece easily trace instead of cutting out the whole thing. it would have only been 2-3 min instead of cutting it out of the whole car.

This frame setup is a lot better than what you started with. Lighter and plenty strong. Ideally I would like to see the 2x4 frame rail go inboard and just have a round tubular hoop to tie in with the body at the rockers, but I think you'll do just fine with what you've come up with. Good job taking the good feedback you've gotten and ignoring all the haters.
Edit: I'm not a fabricator. A lot of seemingly knowledgeable commenters here pointed out that the butt welds on the rectangular tubing are not going to be strong enough for this application. You may want to add gussets, or as others have said, start over. I don't know how this could possibly be weaker than the original unibody considering how overbuilt the whole frame material is (it's not a truck), but there are people far more knowledgeable about these things than I am, so maybe listen to what they're saying.

You can glue the aluminium panels in if your worried about corrosion. Those right angles in the frame are week points don’t just gusset them do triangulated angles like you have at the front. Also bead roll the floor it’ll make it stronger and prevent the panels being as noisy when they vibrate. You could have used tube for the whole chassis to save weight! Maybe on the next build. Love what your doing.

I would have used the 4in box for the front frame add ons and used the 3in for the seat drops. Have you thought about how your gonna run the exhaust yet to where the pipes won't be hanging to much below the frame?

Where you cut the vertical member out of the upper crossbar (behind the engine), you left a kind of odd-looking feature. Structurally, it probably doesn't matter, but it would look better with a new horizontal member to replace the area where the old junction was. I commend you for your boldness in undertaking this project.

I mentioned to you months ago about using 1x3 and turning those center frame rails on the flat, and that you were going to have a headroom problem. But nooooooooooooooooooooooo, you had to do it your way. Where you butted those rail together, you also need to add some fish plates to strengthen that up.

I would not dare, because I know that despite being an engineer with lots of years behind me, I know that I do not have the skill to build a safe, strong car frame from scratch. This guy has the commitment, I'll give him that, but he does not have the skill and knowledge required to do the job properly and safely. Please do not encourage him, because he is building a death trap. If you can't see that, then you too do not have the skill to build a car either.

That frame is dangerously scary. You need to take a minute to reflect. This is something that could kill you or save your life and you are building it to possibly kill you. To start the but welds are not safe. The different size tubing used on the frame caused yet another weak point. Ending the tube for a bend is yet another weak point I’m just saying use this frame as a template to build a new one. It is a cool idea but not safe at all. You seem to be making this frame build more difficult then it needs to be. These builds are on you tube. You need to take a minute to watch a few. This is not going to be a road worthy car.

I wonder how much this Mustang build would cost if I had arranged for vTuned to do it for me. First there’s the cost of two wrecks and an ancient 66 Mustang. Then there’s the cost of the fiberglass body shell, the metal used prolifically. Then there’s vTune himself. What would his talent cost per hour? How many hours will it take? There’s the cost of using the shop itself for storage and the hourly cost of the frame machine. The car is still half built and painting won’t be cheap. A minimum of three coats of primer, three coats of color, and three of clear, not to mention the sand paper and cost of a paint booth. I bet it would be cheaper to buy a new Mustang Shelby GT and safer too. vTuned will end up with a pretty, but clunky, heavy, Mustang-looking jalopy.

Hey vtuned, while you have taken the side body parts off of the frame why don’t you just cut the frame up and turn it into a nice trailer for a lawnmower or something. Because this frame build is just pure junk. It is going to fall apart so fast. I don’t mean to be hurtful but I’m just telling the truth. Just stick to fixing wrecks and stop building cars from scratch because it’s not worth it. That’s why the big vehicle manufacturers spend millions developing them. Oh and paint the trailer green just for the hell of it. Later Lad!!

Also, cutting out the old one frame, it most likely warpred and/or tweaked.
And going from 2x4 to 2x3 is going to cause structural weak points in the way you joined them together (end to end instead of perpendicular) !
I seriously think you should again scrap your work and redo it, properly.

Maybe it is time to consider giving up, there is no shame here, all your followers will feel better, it's just craziness to continue that project, please V take care of yourself and of the others on the road, your project looks like a wooden raft tied with ropes, no structural rigidity, no measurements whatsoever, please consider reading the comments. As previously said, even if your gifted and audacious, building a car it's a job for specialists (as a holder of a diploma in bodywork repair I can say it's not a joke), so much of parameters to account for. Please consider our comments. Or you take the risk of not losing only subscribers but also your health / life. 🙏🏼

I'm no engineer but, reading the comments, the majority seem to agree with my thoughts. I thought that butt-welding framerails looked kinda sketchy and more than a wee bit intidy.
If I might make a suggestion vTuned: keep going with all the jointed stuff, until you get 𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒚𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒈 in the right place. Then, use all these odd bits of tube as a template to make the frame out of as few pieces as possible. You shouldn't even need the body on the car at that stage, as you'll know that it all fits.
I get the impression you're kinda sick of the sight of the Mustang and I don't blame you.
𝑯𝒂𝒔 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆 𝒔𝒐𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒊𝒄𝒆?
Maybe start by reading through all the comments, from the very start of the project. There's some rubbish in there but some good advice too, as you've seen already. Then have a look at some of the YT builds that folks have suggested/recommended. You don't 𝒉𝒂𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒐 copy anyone but you'll get loads of ideas and see if their worked out.
I'm not knocking you vTuned, not one bit, but I do think you could use some advice.😁

I'd of taken the firewall from the wrecked car and seen if you could of made it fit into the 66. it has all the perfect bends and all for all the accessories duct work for heating and a/c, the brake booster and other items that go behind the dash.
