One of the best projects that I have seen. I don't understand why ford hasn't released an old version car with all of the new technology that they have now. Would be amazing.

You are showing confidence in your abilities that l still lack after 50 years. ( in spite of building multiple award winning restorations that have gone world wide). Great stuff.

Yeah I've been known to bend a lot of things conduit or EMT goes by inside diameter and tubing goes by outside diameter that's why the dies don't interchange, anyway if you want to get two identical pipes pay attention to the robotic weld that all tubing and pipes have, it's a straight line that goes along the tubing or pipe and keep those in the same position when you put your pipe into the die.

A smart kid would have cut the sub frame, floor pans, trunk pans and firewall out of the car that the motor came in and graft it into this old stang. The hard part would be done already.

When you weld the roof together, I’ve seen on some later years where they put a small fin in the center over the rear glass. The best example was on the show Fantom works. It was a SEMA build.

I've worked in a luxury car manufacturer body and paint shop for about six years. I can tell you that making a car from scratch using all new parts is a whole lot faster now days. Our target was a car driving off the assembly line every 57 seconds. We did it.

Don't you dare leave that motor so far forward!!!!! Has to be right back as close to firewall as possible. New cars have a lot more metal everywhere to meet standards. But they are literally almost a ton heavier. This build will crush 850hp cars because its so light.

dntpearson1994 - 7 måneder siden
Just my 2 cents, buy a new factory front subframe, build a custom box steel frame to the correct wheelbase of the 65. Trying to duplicate all of the suspension mounting points while not impossible, will be challenging, ford already figured all of that out, just build rails that tie the front and rear subframes together. It's Look in good keep on going.

For me with all this work in widening the engine, I would have built a Boss 429 from Kaase Racing.
Tony Fisher
Tony Fisher - 7 måneder siden
I think widening the body will allow you to not have to have much fender flair. So the car will look more natural. Not so much like a big eared dude wearing a hat to small. Although . should have cut both side of gas filler neck . then you could have used stock cap. Still not to's metal after all.

Please don’t crucify me for this, but why not just use the Heidts mustang II IFS subframe kit outfitted for coyote with disc brakes for like $1200 and save yourself all the time and effort of fabricating from scratch?
