So what did you pay for it at the salvage yard. Also what did you pay for the 2015 mustang. I ask because this is a project I have day dreamed about for a long long time and will be my bucket list project. Well I mean how you end up doing it with the dynacorn fast back body that with all modern technology that’s what I am wanting to do.

Yep, that's where Ford put the seat bolts back in the day, I'm in the UK and that's where my Capri's seat bolts were. Welcome to the old way of doing it, windscreens attached with rubber seals, weird bolt positions and lots of non-rustproofed metal !

Consider this car about as good as it gets for most parts of North America except for the southern part of US and Mexico, and I personally would have loved to have had one this good to start on, but I come from Canada and this would be graded as mint for a used Mustang that's 54 years old. When you mentioned possible scrapping this car I almost had a heart attack. Those floor pans can be bought and cut to size for patches. I'll be watching, please don't scare me like that again.

As a former Owner of a 1966 FORD Mustang Coupe while in High School I can Relate to your Project!...But what Surprised me the most was that with all of Today's Technology on the Internet that yoiu didn't take time to look up to Dismantle a 66 FORD Mustang Coupe!... I am Just Saying!...God Bless America! 😇
BTW!...Where is your Shop located?...Also, have you considered of Purchasing a Pair of "Mechanic Gloves"?...I am Just Saying!

I remember 30 odd years ago when I rebuilt a 1970 Falcon GT here in Aussie. Before we stripped it down the panel beater commented "from a rust point of view this is the best you will get". He was right although I was lucky as no rust in floors, sills boot etc - just a bit in bottom Qtrs & a couple of doors from what we originally could see. Nothing like this old stang that has a few surprises!

Please do a retro mod and use your GT interior on the inside of the 66! You would get so much traffic to your channel by doing this! There aren’t any videos out on start to finish process all of us DIYers are dying to see it done!

Hi, I really hope you read this... I’m rebuilding the same car but I had a 6 cylinder car. I’m wanting to know what you are going to do with all your extra parts? I could use that gas tank, rear end, and even the 5 lug wheels. Please contact me about these parts it would help out my build unbelievably. Thank you 🙏🏼

If anyone has experience with early model 60's Mustangs you know why the floorboards are rusted out. The fresh air intake was a horrible design. Once it starts to rust a little it lets all kinds of water in every time it rains. From there on the carpets keep getting wet and rusts out the floorboards. Fixing why it leaks is a PAIN. I have seen aftermarket covers for the grill where the water comes in under the windshield as a quick fix but looks like crap.

Take your time and enjoy the beauty. I rebuilt a '66 Fastback 289 about 20 years ago. They are the best looking of the mustangs. My opinion anyway. Now I have a '12 GT coyote and I love it. To me its the closest thing to the 66 fastback. I will subscribe and watch the build.

I have built several first gen mustang's. Get rid of the shock towers. There are many reasons for this. One will be for fitting that new engine. Second is for handling. The first gen mustang's were fast, but never turned for shit. And they liked to plow into the turns.

Just wanted to say that on the older Fords you really have to check the cowl areas really well, they are known to not drain the water properly if the car has sat outside and is not moved often. Which of course causes rust holes which the water will start draining down into the inside floorboards and such. when you pulled up the carpet and I saw your floorboards that was like the first thing that I thought of. Your a great body man and I probably am saying something you already know but check the cowl areas really good and make sure that your floorboards didn't rust because of this well know fact.

vTuned, that car is pretty nice for an old restorer. Finding those old cars that are more rust free than that are like unicorns and you have to pay through the nose for them. If you don't want that kind of a project then sell it off to someone that does and go back to the newer stuff. These projects are not for the feint of heart. That said I know you have the talent to get this done, personally I hope you buck up and learn what you don't know and expand your skillset. Remember nothing worth having comes easy. If you pull this one off you've one up'ed Goonz and you'll have one fine ride that's unique.
